Russian language around (2)

Naomi Campbell seems to have become Soviet period secret agent who torture Russian prisoner in last photoshoot for "Interview" magazine by Mert&Marcus ( inspiration is film "Eastern Promises") (interesting that currently she dates Russian millionaire).
On one of these shocking photos you can see prisoner with typical prison tats with words "Пусть будет сном что пережито" ("Let all I have lived through be as if it were a dream”) (across chest just like hero of "Eastern Promises" played by Vigo Mortensen had - I didn't watch movie yet as think it will be quiet hard one to watch).

Photoshoot is so dark, fetish and violent but really amazing, and Naomi is still so good..

Movie: "AVATAR" (2009)

Good fairy-tale of 21st century (in my childhood I was so impressed by all that clay monsters - just remember "Clash of the Titans" of 1981) and look at this - great! We thought "The Lord of the Rings"is apotheosis of CG movie...No, Avatar did all that frodos and company.

Liked: Sigourney Weaver, who was at the beginning of this sort of movies starring in "Alien", was offered to play blue monster in this movie in 2009 - liked the fact itself. Liked main heroine - her facial expressions and gestures are truly alive (beautiful and wild - Pocahontas of SF movie as my friend said). Also monsters appearing in this film are something - each of them is mixture of animal, bird and exotic insect in one...
Didn't like: but if you imagine it all played by old clay monsters of 80s, you`ll find that the plot itself is very typical, very-very typical for Hollywood movies (I think TITANIC by the same director James Cameron made viewers feel more strong feelings and made think more, than his new work).
Nevertheless, remember - don`t kill fluorescent insects - they may be sacred spirits!

Emma McLaughlin and Nicola Kraus "The Nanny Diaries"

My "books reading &DVD watching" marathon continues.. 1week and half and I will start working (I suppose till late every day..), so I try to enjoy my last days of summer vacation.
This novel is sort of entertaining mass literature and I am sure everyone who likes "Devil Wears Prada" will find this story interesting also, as it resembles very much...Young girl who works as nanny in super-high class NY family and has to go through all kind of indignity from Mrs.X - her despotic employer....
Story is very funny (you can find a lot of scenes which make you smile and laugh), also like "Devil Wears Prada" it is very "girly" book - reader is supposed to feel sort of ecstasy, reading passage about heroine appearing "holding olive Birkin" in "her green Prada pumps" (for those who are not in - sometimes you will have to check net for all those brands and their prices to understand feelings of heroine)..But as a whole it is very relaxing and funny book - which also made you think about what is really important in family relationships.

Movie: "The Shining" (1980)

Classic of horror films, directed by Stanley Kubrick (original story by Stephen King) with great Jack Nicholson as main hero. Stephen King was one of my favourite authors - first I read his novel at about 13-14 years old and it impressed me so much - I used to switch off lights in the room and read his books in the light of only one stand lamp - just to create atmosphere of "fear"..
Stephen Kings novels usually have "happy end", such kind of "happy end horrors".. Liters of blood, dead men, ghosts and other crap, but main heroes usually escape from all of this in the end- so you always feel some kind of relief after reading..
Film is amazing - all classical stuff you can see in all these Hollywood horrors now - empty hotel, twin girls with words "Come on , play with us!" appearing in front of little boy in corridor, ghosts who live in their parallel world and interfere, housefather who eventually drives mad and ends up hunting his family with chopper...
Nicholson has such amazing face of mad man (in other films either) that you feel fear just looking at him, even if he doesn't do or say anything...
Actress playing his wife in the film seems so damn silly, that if it were me I would still chop her..
And I think the scene when river of blood overflowing hotel corridor in slow-motion is one of the best scenes in modern horror films

Movie: "Boobs Volleyball" (2009)

Funny Japanese comedy "Boobs Volleyball" ("Oppai bare") (2009).

Typical story which resembles another famous comedy "Water Boys" and million of such kind of American movies - group of school boys who never played volleyball and are considered full losers made school team and tried to win games, as their cute teacher promised to show them her boobs if they do it. Typical plot, some funny moments, a bit sob-stuff, like in all Japanese movies..
Plus 2 good points of this film - first is that all takes place apparently in 60-70s, so you can feel atmosphere of that time in wonderful scenery which seems to be constructed with paying attention to mere details- clothes, magazines they read that time, furniture, movie posters. And music selection in this movie is another its charm!
The second point is that famous Japanese actress Haruka Ayase plays "oppai-sensei" - one of my favorite actress in Japan (which is famous not only as actress but also as so-called "gravure-idol" - girls who do swimsuit modelling for Japanese glossy mens magazines).

Fashion`s Night Out 2010 Japan

Yes, it was the second time they held Fashion`s Night Out here - in Tokyo - celebration of fashion shopping victims (we had one with us - a bit more temptations and she would buy up all that they had in Marc Jacobs store in Harajuku)...
This year more people, more participating stores and atmosphere of some kind of matsuri in the middle of Omotesando. In each stores - Ralph Lauren, Dior, Louis Vuitton they served champagne - maybe it is only one time a year when you can afford entering such super-expensive brand stores and go around sipping alcohol :)

Opening ceremony in luxurious Omotesando Hills were full of people, Japanese models (including Ai Tominaga and Anna Tsuchiya as show guests).. When ceremony finished, they organised kind of night club just in the middle of shopping mall with Verbal (who of course played his hit song "Tokyo Drift") from Teriyaki Boys and Japanese night club diva Yoon as DJs.

Movie: "Seven Samurai" (1954)

It is 8:30 now and I finished watching film directed by Akira Kurosawa "Seven Samurai" ("Shichinin-no-samurai"). Actually in my tiny native town in Russia - Arsenyev - every junior school student knows the name of this Japanese director, as here in 1973 he shot his then Oscar-nominated film "Dersu Uzala" ...
" Seven samurai" is truely good movie - good movie about real men, bravery and fate of heroes....
Although it is black-and-white, the video scenes are very beautiful (especially final battle scene under rain is so emotional), and it feels full of color and strong emotions. Main hero - Kikuchi (actor Toshiro Mifune) is one of the best heroes in Japanese cinematography - wild at one side, but sensitive at another... Great movie! Nothing else to say :)

Long-long day

Yesterday it was long but so full of emotions day
5:00 am Woke up and did jogging to Shinjuku station and back...It is always not easy to wake up so early, but after jogging you feel so fresh and ready for new day.

7:00 am Trying not to fall sleep again while studying Excel and Accounting and still fall sleep from time to time

11:00 am After sunburning in Shinjuku Gyouen go to gym and try my training program DAY1 - exercises for back muscles and triceps - I made it using You Tube videos, Internet tips and magazines I bought in Shinjuku book store - this program for training of different groups of muscles - divided into days... I am really looking forward to what the results would be...

7:00 pm Arrived in Shin Yokohama to watch Japan-Paraguay soccer match with friends - main event of the day.
We had tickets on the second (!) row from downstairs! It was so close that we saw all in details and felt hot atmosphere of game

"Blue" army of supporters and fans....

Army of media with their "guns"-cameras...
12:00 pm Arrived in Roppongi at night club where received presents from Dmitrii , Tamara and Natalia - we danced almost till morning together... Drank beer, remember all in some mist, but it was best clubbing night this year for sure - with Tamara we started some kind of dancing battle involving people around...

4:00 am Reached my small comfortable apartment (talking about miserable fate of Russian and Filipino hostess in Japan with taxi driver all way to my station) and finally fall asleep

Thanx to all friends and people I have met in my 24 years - in such days you understand - encounters are so important

Ciara ft Missy Elliott - Work (Official Video)

Kenki

Kenki (a.k.a. Juuki) - Japanese word for Heavy Construction Equipment (people who work in this industry use "kenki" instead of full naming "kensetsukikai")... There are many types of them: excavators for digging works, drills, crushers, cranes (all-terrain type, rough-terrain type, truck-mounted type, crawler, lattice boom type)...

Kenki was my reality and they came in my dreams in form of loaders and excavators and trucks for about 2 years...(really, sometimes I saw dreams where I did negotiations selling some Komatsu mini-excavator all night long, till alarm rang)

It was really interesting world (though hard sometimes) (in Japan there is also "juki/kenki mania" - people who love construction equipment, collect minituare models and so on) and I have good memories

When was looking for some music to put into i-pod fot morning jogging, found this video of Ciara jumping and shaking hips among offroad dump trucks and mobile crushers and nostalgia grabbed my heart.......ha-ha

P.S. From this week I started long-long way to normal weight and body construction (60 kg is real dead man).
